On the afternoon of October 27 local time, the Iraqi Ministry of Oil held a signing ceremony for oil contracts of the awarded blocks in the 5th and 6th bidding rounds. On behalf of ZhenHua Oil, General Manager Lu Lize signed the oil contracts for the Abu Khema and Qurnain exploration projects. Ma Cheng, Assistant to the General Manager and General Manager of EBS Petroleum Company Limited, accompanied him. Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayan witnessed the signing ceremony, attended by the Deputy Minister of Oil, the Director General of the National Oil Company, and others.

The signing of the oil contracts marks the official commencement of operations for the Abu Khema and Qurnain exploration projects. The successful acquisition of these two projects results from the company's adherence to the main line of "maintaining reserves, creating incremental reserves, and preventing risks" under the support of higher authorities and its long-term cultivation of the Iraqi market. This further enriches the company's upstream asset portfolio, and holds significant strategic importance for consolidating the company's core market position in Iraq and ensuring its oil and gas reserves and medium-to-long-term production succession. It also lays a solid foundation for further deepening international energy cooperation and solidifying and expanding the market.
