On April 4, Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayyan visited the Ahdeb Oil Field project to inspect oil production, greet frontline employees, and engage in in-depth exchanges with the management team.
Hayyan was accompanied by Iraqi oil officials including Bassim, the Deputy Minister overseeing upstream affairs, Ali, the Deputy Minister overseeing oil distribution and exports, Bassim, a member of the Iraqi Parliament's Energy Affairs Committee, Mahmoud Jamil, the Governor of Wasit Province , and Mohammed Yassin, the Director General of the Midland Oil Company, among others.
ZhenHua Oil's Deputy General Manager and Al-Waha Petroleum's General Director Jiang Ming, extended a warm welcome to Hayyan's delegation and expressed sincere gratitude for the long-standing support and trust from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, Wasit Provincial Government, and Midland Oil Company. He introduced the oil field's development history, current production and operation status, and highlighted the remarkable achievements made over the past year under the guidance of the P.S.P (People, Sustainability, Prosperity) management philosophy and the new "Oasis Spirit" of "Pioneering, Innovation, Dedication, Unity, and Perseverance". He also presented the Company's outstanding performance in areas such as safety and environmental management, water cut and corrosion control, local talent development, and social contributions.
Hayyan highly recognized and praised the project company's achievements in production and operations. He pointed out that the Ahdeb Oil Field has made tremendous contributions to promoting local socio-economic development and improving people's livelihoods over its 16-year development. Additionally, the project company has provided valuable experience and technical support to other oil fields, particularly in areas such as safety concepts, water cut control, corrosion management, and rapid response. The Iraqi government and the Ministry of Oil will continue supporting the Ahdeb Oil Field's further production enhancement plans and provide maximum support and assistance in addressing current challenges related to exports, contract approvals, and historical legacy issues.
Afterwards, Hayyan's delegation inspected the Central Processing Facility (CPF) at the production plant and greeted frontline employees. Local employee representatives introduced the production process and current status at the production plant, as well as the achievements in localization efforts. Hayyan affirmed the important role of the oil field's associated gas treatment process in environmental protection and requested that this successful experience be comprehensively promoted across Iraq's producing oil fields.
During the visit, Jiang Ming also had in-depth discussions with Wasit Province Governor Mahmoud Jamil on various matters such as local talent development, corporate social responsibility, and future development plans. Governor Mahmoud Jamil explicitly expressed support for the project company's request to incorporate surrounding oil fields into its development and production enhancement plans. He also highly commended the project company's deeper talent exchange and technical cooperation with social institutions such as Wasit University. At the end of the visit, Jiang Ming presented souvenirs made from sulfur produced at the Ahdeb Oil Field to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Governor on behalf of the project company.
This visit greatly boosted the confidence and morale of all employees and created an extremely favorable internal and external environment for the future development of the oil field. The entire project company will seize this opportunity to continuously pursue excellence, scale new heights, and contribute more wisdom and strength towards the oil field's transition to a new stage of high-quality development.
