Recently, the Jiangsu Rudong LNG project successfully completed the drainage pipe jacking and water intake well caisson sinking operations. Notably, the dimensions and sinking depth of the water intake well caisson rank among the top undertaken at domestic receiving terminals.
The drainage pipe jacking commenced on January 11 and completed on January 28, covering a jacking distance of 205.9 meters. Prior to commencing work, all participating entities thoroughly reviewed the plans and conducted tabletop simulations, and comprehensively discussed potential abnormalities during the jacking process. Contingency plans were formulated and optimizations were made in the selection of the jacking head. With adequate preparatory measures, unusual obstacles encountered during the jacking process were promptly eliminated.
The water intake well caisson sinking reaches a depth of 23 meters, with a dimension of 39.2 meters x 32.2 meters. After being lowered to the designed elevation and stabilizing, the caisson bottom sealing was completed on February 2. It was the first project on Yangguang Island, where the receiving terminal is located, to adopt the drainage caisson sinking construction method. The on-site team strictly controlled safety and quality, and completed the operation with high quality two days ahead of schedule.
The successful completion of the drainage pipe jacking and caisson sinking operations provided reliable assurance for the smooth execution of subsequent water intake and drainage works after the Spring Festival.
